Someone I work with has a court date to finalize the adoption of her two children (after a long process) and we have been invited to attend a celebration party at her home the Saturday following.
Should I buy a gift for the children, for the family? Any ideas? These are both domestic adoptions so there wouldn't be any country related items I could purchase.
Thanks,
Brandy
I would buy something primarily for the children and maybe get the parents flowers and a card. It sounds very exciting.

I agree with Ami, I would get the kids something (maybe with their name on it??) and the parents a card.

I agree with the others. You didn't say how old the kids are, but a great book for up to 7ish is "Little Miss Spider". A story about a spider who loses her mommy and goes searching for her. In the end she finds a beetle named Betty who invites her to stay with her. Miss Spider says "I looked for my mom and I found her at last. For finding your mother, There's one certain test. You must look for the creature who loves you the best."
How cute is that??
I have to second Rita! Little Miss Spider is a great book. Rainbabies is also a cute book, but I like Little Miss Spider a little better (it might be less confusing for the kids as well...)
Good luck!
