I am wondering if any of you all in Oklahoma have had a private adoption with the attorney now deceased or out of practice and what hoops you had to go through to get the records unsealed. I have little to no information and I am really starting to get discouraged as to how much effort it is going to require to get ANY kind of info.
I wish that the records could be unsealed also. I have been searching for my birth parents for the last 13 yrs and with the records sealed, no luck. Could someone help me?

Kelly,
I went to Judge Morrissey in Tulsa County. I asked for my orginal birth cert along with my records to be opened. I used verifying Indian heritage as my reason for getting my cert and they wouldn't give it to me for that reason. I'll wait a few months and then make a new request. I just need to come up with a better reason.
