Does anyone know what the tax rules are concerning foster children in PA? Do we need to pay taxes on our per diem? Do we claim them on our income tax?
Though this is my first year, my understanding is that:
we don't pay any taxes on the per diem
we can claim them as long as they are in the home 6 months (mine moved in 6/17 what timing!)

Per diem is non-taxable
and yes, the law has been changed for this year to 6 months.
Not everyone is aware of the changes and may tell you it is that foster children have to be with you all year but that was for 2004.
