So, I made a few phone calls today and they are going to give me the 2 year old girl Wednesday of next week, They are giving me this weekend to have the room ready. Right now there is nothing in it. I know Ill need a dresser, I have a rocking chair, and will be shopping this weekend, so can I buy her a toddler bed? I saw a cute one with Dora on it. Any ideas on what I should buy for a 2 year old . Also her birthday turning 2 is in 10 days then xmas, so I need lots of ideas of must haves and nice to haves! Thanks!
Hard to say what she'll be sleeping in so a convertible crib might be best. Some 2 YO are out in beds, some in cribs still.
2 year olds are all about stacking and moving things. Blocks, Duplos, other big manipulatives are big hits. Also big-handled (knob) single piece puzzle boards. Imaginarium has some good ones.
Remember she may emotionally and socially be in a different place, these are all just pretty 'safe' things to have.
HTH best of luck.

That is so great that they are letting you take her. Oh how excited you must be. Congrats!!
Here are some things that you can get her:
Baby doll and stroller
teddy bear for her to sleep with
leap frog (there is one toy that is a magnet and can stick on the frig. it teaches the abc's I bought that for my friends 2yr old and she loved it)
dusty the talking vacuum
a potty training chair
bathtub chair
if you get the dora the explorer bed, there is a cube chair of dora also
bath toys
care bear dolls that talk (I have two that you push their hand and they say "your special" "I love you" and stuff like that)
anything that deals with learning the abc's or 1,2,3's
Hope this helps!:)

Oh my gosh, how exciting! I am always amazed at how things fall together like this. We filled out the intial paperwork for the fost/adopt program to adopt a little girl. Shortly after that we found out that my husbands cousin had abadoned a baby girl and she was waiting in foster care! Amazing, amazing, amazing.
It is so wonderful that the little one will be able to keep in contact with her family through you. What a blessing!
I would find out if she sleeps in a crib or not before you buy. I like the idea for the convertible crib too from the previous post.
Have fun!
