:confused: We live in Westmoreland County, and are seriously considering adopting a little boy between the ages or 4-8. We already have 2 sons, but have always talked about adoption. I am so overwhelmed by everything, I don't know where to start as far as the adoption process. Does anyone know what an AVERAGE waiting time is once you start the process that a child will be placed with you?

we also are in westmoreland county!! I am assuming you are thinking of going through the state to adopt? You can call westmoreland co. cyf, or any agency- we went through one in Pittsburgh for our classes. Since you will be certified for foster or adoption, that is a choice you can make. We decided to go only for adoption, but later decided to help out our agency with respite and emergency placements. Last May we were placed with two little guys- the placement was to be for four days while they found a permanent foster home- but-guess what- they're still here! Their goal is now changing to adoption, so it looks like we will be adopting. We originally were looking for older children/siblings- we told our worker- NO CAR SEATS- and now we have 2!
