Revocation period in VA?

Hi All,

My DH and I are currently waiting to adopt an infant through an open, domestic adoption. Our SW mentioned a few months ago that he thought the revocation period for Virginia would be changing from 25 days to 10 days effective July 1, 2006. :clap: (I'm not sure if revocation is the correct term. By this, I mean the time in which the birthmother could change her mind after signing the entrustment agreement.) If anyone is aware of this change, could you fill me in?!? I'd love to know ahead of time what the process will look like.

There have been some legislative changes recently in VA. It's not as simple as your SW has laid out though. If you haven't already, you should consult your Virginia Adoption Attorney for details on the new laws.
