I didn't realize that the Supremes' song, "Love Child" was their best-selling hit single love child: Definition and Much More from Answers.com
Here are the lyrics to this very powerful, legendary song that conveys the guilt and shame faced by some birth mothers and their children who are conceived outside of marriage

Does anyone know of other songs that somewhat convey the feelings and experiences of people within the adoption triangle? Again, I'm curious to learn how popular culture portrays our experiences. The only song I can think of that's sort of related is "Papa Don't Preach" by Madonna MADONNA LYRICS - Papa Don't Preach - even 'tho she ends up deciding to keep her baby, I think it (even remotely) conveys some of the dilemmas faced by women who become accidentally pregnant.

Ripples
Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves - Cher
"Picked up a boy just south of mobile
Gave him a ride, filled him with a hot meal
I was sixteen, he was twenty-one
Rode with us to memphis
And papa woulda shot him if he knew what hed done..."
"I never had schoolin but he taught me well
With his smooth southern style
Three months later Im a gal in trouble
And I havent seen him for a while, uh-huh
I havent seen him for a while, uh-huh
She was born in the wagon of a travellin show
Her mama had to dance for the money theyd throw"
Again just with the accidental pregnancy, not necicarily adoption.
