Hi everyone! I'm new here. My husband is in the process of adopting my son. His biofather signed the consent today. I know the next step is the home study. I was wondering if any of you have already been through this process and could tell me exactly what happens during the home study. How extensive is it? We went through a home study when we were in a custody trial for my stepson and the person who did that home study interviewed everyone and looked in every room and even looked in drawers and cabinets. I was wondering if it will be very similar. I know I shouldn't be but I am so nervous. Thanks in advance for any insight you can give me.

Yes the home study will be very similar. They will want to know background information on you and your husband, information about your marriage, they may interview the child, and will most likely check out the home as well. You have been through this before, so don't worry, you will get through it just fine!
