Okay this is probably going to sound really dumb:confused:, but I really do not understand what I may be fixing to go through and want a little heads up to the process!
Okay......... we are going to have a permenancy review this Thursday, and as some of you already know my husband and I are more than likely going to get to adopt our current foster son, but they are waiting on the TPR because the birthmom is pregnant again and they want to keep the case open so they can keep an eye on her ect...... so anyways, when and if we get to adopt what is involved in the adoption homestudy??? i know they will read the first home study we did and they will base their homestudy off of that, but what kinds of questions do they ask? What is the process? Why does it take so long? When the TPR takes place, will he stay with me while the adoption agencies process is being done? Will he just be in state custody or will we be his legal guardians? I am just wanting to get all the info I can so I am prepared for this when and if it happens! I say if because I know that things could change very quickly and the TPR may not happen, but I still want to be prepared and have what I can done so it goes faster! I know we can get our physicals, background checks, pet vaccine records, ect... updated, but is there anything else that would make it better for us and easier on the agency? I appreciate any and all help this is the first time since we started that adoption is an option! Thank You!
