Recently my 5 yr old fd had a major tantrum because I sent her to the corner for not paying attention to me when I was trying to explain why she couldn't do something. Then the following day she had another tantrum because we sent her to the corner for jumping on her bed during quiet time. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions on how to handle this or any other time-out techniques that I might try besides the corner. I am at witts end and ready to pull all of my hair out.

I hope you see this! It's been a bit since you originally posted your question.
My daughter is 4. She is truly a good child most of the time and when she does disobey or make a mistake that requires a time out she gets extremely upset with herself. Maybe that's what's going on with your daughter as well.
Keeping in mind how hard she is on herself already, I'll ask her to go on her time out, if she doesn't go immediately or starts to tantrum I'll ask her to go on time out and tell her I'm not going to ask her again. If she still doesn't listen I calmly pick her up and put her there myself. Continuing to tantrum gets no reaction from me as long as she stays on the time out. If she tries to leave I calmly pick her up and put her back there as many times as it takes for her to fulfill her 4 minute timeout without leaving.
After that we talk about what she did wrong, how she feels about it and what she needs to do to rectify the situation.
I do it the same way in the same time out spot right next to the fridge every single time. We rarely have an issue because she understands exactly what's going to happen in every situation no matter how she reacts.
I hope that helps. Good luck!
