Hi everybody! We will be licensed on Friday and was wondering if placements are slow right now or if we should expect to see kids pretty fast. My mom is having surgery on the 13th and it would be best if we waited, but I know I will never say no if they call me!
Thanks!
I answered on the other board.
Reg 3 is typically quick about placements.
It is largely luck though.
Your agency protocol will definitely make a difference though.
Your parameters definitely will make the largest difference.
If you want a caucasion newborn, you'll likely wait much longer
than if you want a sibling group of three, will take special needs, etc.
It probably helps that two of the largest agencies in the state are on placement holds
so can't grab up kiddos as quickly (though that probably makes CPU's job harder).
We are closing our home for 2014 (or ???) due to family circumstances.
They are currently looking for a home for our littles.

We've never had a long wait to get a placement, and have received calls when we were technically not open for any placements. Like servnjah mentioned though, it depends on your agency and what types of placements you are looking for. Apparently our agency doesn't have too many folks who will foster infants, so we're always been near the top of the list. It will be interesting to see if that changes now that we want to go a little older (9months +). We need a break from the little tiny babies.
We generally have to wait about 3-4 months here. We did this a decade ago and never went more than 10 days w/o a little one.... Man! Have things changed. We're looking for 6-9 boy or girl. We have 2 beds available. So could take 2.
servnjah - wish we could take your little ones for ya.
