Hey everyone, I'm a newb, and I was looking through all of my paper work and was wondering what kind of doctor did you all use to do the physical exam? I am a very shy person and generally do not feel comfortable being "exposed". I am pretty comfortable with my obgyn, could she do the physical exam ( I have to schedule an appointment soon any ways)? I was just wondering what all your experiences with this part of the process was like.
Just incase, I am in Region 9 and going through New Horizons.

I guess I should specify, I've been to the obgyn for several years now, but my doctors a woman in San Angelo. I guess if you guys just specify what the gp will actually do, I guess I might feel more comfortable, or just go to a female doctor in San Angelo who can sign off on my sheet. Thanks for any input.
It's a basic physical, nothing invasive.
Check weight, listen to heart, check blood pressure ask you basic questions about how you feel physically. Maybe check your ears and throat.
the tb test is a little injection on your forearm that has to be read by the nurse 48-72 hours later or it had to be redone.

In my yearly physical, I do have to remove my shirt (not bra) and wear a paper "shirt" with the opening in the front. This is so that the Dr. can listen to my heart and feel my abdomen. Those are the most invasive parts. The doctor will respect what you tell him you do/don't feel comfortable with. If you do not wish to remove your shirt, please let him know and he will work with that. If you refuse a test that's necessary for the form to be completed you can see a female doctor as a backup plan. But it is your right to turn down any procedure.
For our physicals they basically did the normal height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, etc and then asked us if we had anything that would prevent us from being able to do foster care, we said no and they signed the form.
Not sure that was the best screening ever, but hey, it worked.
