My husband wants to adopt my 3 yr old daughter (almost 4). I divorced her BF when she was 1 yr old. Her BF has been a delinquent/absent parent (he has seen her twice in the past 18 months, only because I happened to be in his area; and he only started to pay garnished child support this Oct), never making any other effort to contact her. She calls him and leaves messages, but he never returns her calls. He says he wants to see her, but doesn't follow through on his visitation plans. I guarantee that he will not willingly give up his parental rights - he has outright told me so. He also has 3 children from his first marriage and all three of them have told me that they WANT to testify AGAINST him in the adoption case of my daughter by my husband. Their BF was very delinquent in their lives also and has caused them emotional pain throughout their lives - and none of them want to see the same thing happen to their little sister. Will their testimony be allowed or have any bearing on the adoption of my daughter? Thanks in advance for the advice!
