Hello! I would love to hear about anyone's experiences in Indiana regarding step-parent adoption. My daughter will be 9 in a few months. I was married (only for a few months) to her Bio-father and divorced when she was 3 weeks old. I re-married when she was 18 months and have been married over 6 years now. Her bio-father has not paid child support in 20 months and he IS employed full time. The last time he exercised visitation was 6 months ago, and has always been sporadic. He does not even call/ write letters, nothing. I have seen a lawyer several times. When I was their in October, he said my chanes were 60/40% in my favor. Not extremely favorable. I am afraid the bio-dad will (mostly due to his mother's propting) fight it, with his mother's help. He lives 3 hours away so he would have to hire a lawyer here. He can't make his Mom mad, she get's him out of trouble when he is in it. I could see his Mother/family comes to court saying how much they love my daughter...Even though the grandmother has not seen her in a year, never calls, but has sent 2 cards lately, which is stange and has never done this before. I feel like his lack of suppot/ visitation is in my favor, even if he comes up with every excuse in the book. Please help!

Your chances are greater than 60%. In talking you said you son does not want to visit w/BF. Don't allow it.
My case was similar, are adoption was won.I think you have a extemely great chance
