We will be picking up our little boy from Guatemala next week and I want to know how I can express my gratitude and hopefully make it a little easier for his Foster parents. They have had him since he was 2 days old, for the last 17 months. They are amazing people and have given him such wonderful care and loved him like their own child. I feel quilty even taking him from them. How do I convey my thanks and let them know how much what they have done means to our family? BTW I think you are all so great for what you do.

I think the best thing you can do is show them that he is going to a good family. That is what I worry about the most for my foster kids. I want to know that the family is strong and will provide a healthy environment. I want to know that the child will be loved the way he/she should be for the rest of their lives. Find some way to put their mind at ease in that way and to me that is the best gift I could ever ask for. You could even send letters and pictures once in a while just telling what the child has been up to. I think they would love that very much.
