I was looking for a job in adoption field. I will be earning my MSSW this August, 2008 from University of Texas at Arlington, School of Social Work. I have good experience working in the adoption agency in Gladney center for adoption as an intern.
As my resume shows, during my field placement of Gladney Center for Adoption, TX, I provided service and did the follow-up for the adoptive families. During the adoption process, the adoptive family experiences up and down of the process and I counsel them to be patient and open-minded about adoption. Besides, I am in the ABC (African-American, biracial children) program, I educated the adoptive families about the trans-racial issues in adoption. Since I am doing my internship in there, I find my passion about adoption and I confirm my faith to work in adoption area for helping more children find home as well as helping the couple to build a family or extend their families. I enjoy my internship in adoption agency and I really want to contribute more after I get my master degree of social work. In addition, if I can use my bilingual advantage (Mandarin and English) to provide service in adoption area, such as China international adoption, I will be appreciated to get this chance to devote myself to adoption area for helping more families.
I believe I would be an asset to your agency. My experience in adoption agency combined my passion and interests in working in adoption area makes me well-qualified to serve as a social worker at adoption agency.
