We just got our first placement call almost three weeks ago, and we now have a little newborn foster daughter. We picked her up when she was discharged from the hospital. Ironically, I have not been able to get back to the computer because we have been so busy with the baby. She is really calm, pleasant, and of course, adorable! It's funny how things worked out. We told the social worker that we were open to siblings under 2 yrs. old, and were told that they'd hold us off until they got siblings. We were expecting 2 kids, and older, and here they called with a newborn. All the stressing and supposing, and you end up with the kids that are meant to be there.
Just a quick question: Does anyone have info/experience with dealing with the guardian ad litem? Our friends who have adopted their foster kids said that it is very important for us to have ongoing, open communication with the G.a.l. Our caseworker is not the sharpest, and we feel the need to really advocate for the baby. Any info would be great.
