Yesterday we met with our foster sons case worker, foster son was reunited and then came back to us when mom asked us to be his gaurdians for a set amount of time. The time is almost up and the county is not seeing any improvement and we were asked to terminate our gaurdianship agreement so that they can place him...with us. This was really hard though because after knowing his mother for almost a year I really care about her and hope that this will help her in the long run as well as our foster son. The court will be petitioned excatly one year to the day that it was petitioned before when he was placed from the hospital. I feel as though I should feel guilty but I need to look out for the saftly of a child that is truly a son to me. If anyone has ever had a child placed in their home for a second time do the parents ever get them back again?
I had 2 little girls for 2 yrs. They were 3 mo and 14 mo when placed with me. They went back to mom. I offered her my support and she allowed me to stay in their lives. I kept them while she did her parenting classes and on weekends. I moved to another state, but I had them during summer vacation, Christmas break, and long weekends. When they came back into care at 7 and 8 yrs of age, I had to become a foster parent in the new state and then I got them back. It has been 3 yrs now. The mom's state won't do TPR on her. I was supposed to get guardianship for the last 2 yrs, but something always comes up to prevent it. Now mom is contesting the guardianship and the whole thing will have to go to trial. They are 11 and 12 now. They will probably age out of the system before anything is settled. Or they may go home any day. The newest caseworker was talking about returning them home, but the judge has been on the case for 3.5 yrs and wouldn't allow it. If we get a new judge...who knows.

I have a child who has been in and out of my house aplenty first he was here for ten months, gone for three weeks, back for THREE DAYS now gone for just over a month, but still here two days of every week. Thankfully, all of this should resolve itself very soon and he will either be here, or not. Are we having fun yet?
Also, Mamalove, your signature about God's timing is hilarious :) Bless you, you will have your hands full (as if you don't already!)
Godmother,
I am flabbergasted that the state has allowed your girls to linger in the system so long. How is that possibly good for the girls, for you, for their birthmother??
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised... but I still constantly am!

It's not good for anyone. Everytime they get a new caseworker (which is often), all the past work seems to fly out the window. Mom convinces them how much she wants the girls back, but never quite comes through.
