I just received my second bill from a doctor's office visit for my former FD. It's all for services from back in October. Last month I called the office and made sure that they didn't have our address listed on the account anywhere (they didn't), but we just got another one. It doesn't have our name on it has her father's name, just with our address. Clearly our address is in their system somewhere and he clearly isn't paying this bill. I assume the got our address through the insurance since it's a totally different office (affiliated with a different hospital) than what we use. I wasn't planning on doing anything this time, but now I'm wondering if I should. Any ideas? I'm leaning towards waiting to see if I receive a third on at the end of February, but since it isn't my account they won't really let me do anything.
Can you return to the sender saying this person is not at this address? Kind of what you would do if someone moved...

That's what I had planned to do February. I'm just irked since they assured me that I would not receive any more bills. They couldn't figure out why I even had a bill, since they could find a record of my address in the computer system.
Obviously your address is in there somewhere, or it's been added again by whoever is taking the child to the dr. They have to have your address because they're mailing you bills.
Is your name on the bill or just the address? If it's just the address, return to send, addressee not at this address. And keep doing that until it stops.
If your name is anywhere, you'll need to get to the bottom of it.
If your name is anywhere on the bill or tied to the account, then I would go down there and get this straightened out. If the bill is not paid, and your name is on the account, then it will affect your credit, and they can take you to court over it. If it is just your address with a different name, and you are nowhere on the account, the. Returning the bills might work. Good luck, medical billing is so annoying.
