Well the baby is due anytime...we think. We never received a specific due date, but this is our extimate according to conversations we have had.
Our contact person said she would call a little after labor begins and also, that she would tell me when to go to the hospital.
We haven't heard anything, we just tell them when we have appointments so they know our schedule during these last days.
I'm wondering if your experience is you are called when labor begins so you can prepare, or you are called to drop everything and go to pick up the baby.
Keep in mind this is not foster adopt. It is pre-adoption cradle care. We have no involvement in the permanent placement, just birth until the adoption is final; typically less than a month.

When we picked up our FD, they called us when she was born and told us when they expected a discharge. Then we picked her up at the county building after a court day about three days later. Recently, we fostered another infant and the pattern was supposed to be the same, but the hospital wouldn't hold the baby an additional day so the court date could happen, so we ended up picking up after two days instead of three. We are in NY.

thanks; just got a call last week no birth yet. I am supposed to get a call shortly after labor starts in order to prepare the family. I will then be called to the hospital to pick up when NB is discharged. Wish I knew exactly what supplies the hosp. will be sending w/baby. I'm full of questions, b/c this is our first placement. Probably similar to a new mom with 1st pregnancy. After the first time, I'll have a better idea of what to expect...hopefully.
