I am new to this forum, so I'll tell a little about myself. I was married in July and I have 3 biological children from a previous marriage. Currently I am the only one working, but I have a home day care so I'm home all the time. I have always wanted to do foster care, but have waited until my children were older. I'm interested in caring for children under 5 years old.
I'm in Jefferson County and I called yesterday to get information about foster care. They mailed info to me, so I should have it in a few days. Several of my answers have already been answered on this site, which is great. I was wondering if anyone knows the rates for Jefferson county or even a website? I'm not looking to make money from this, but my income isn't high enough to financially support another child. I've found several sites already and they all say the same, that PA differs from county to county.

I can't tell you what Jefferson county is per day, but can share that when we did foster care we got $25 a day (and we're in dauphin county).

Thanks for the response. I actually called them and it is $22-$25 per day. I was really nervous about what they'd tell me. We just don't want to be over our heads financially. Thanks again!
