To Whom It May Concern:
I am interested in a position in the adoption field in the Kansas City area. I graduated from Iowa State University in May of 2006 with a Bachelor's degree in Child, Adult, and Family Services and have been interested in working with foster care and adoption since I started that program. While in college, I was able to do an internship at the Philip Hayden Foundation, a foster home for orphans with special needs in Langfang, China.
I have a strong passion for people. When asked what my hobbies or interests are, I often say "spending time with people!" I have always loved children and have served in children's ministries at my church, as well as nannying for a short period. I believe that all children deserve to be in homes where they can have their needs met and receive love and sound instruction from caring parents.
During my college courses I had many opportunities to develop my writing abilities. I also took courses in which I was able to practice my assessment skills with children. My current job has also helped to develop my writing and communication skills, as I am the main contact for clients and I am responsible for the publication of our quarterly newsletter. I believe these skills, along with my other coursework dealing with children and families and my love for people, would enable me to be a great addition to your agency.
I look forward to hearing from you. Attached is my resume; please contact me by e-mail or personal message for more information. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Amy Ehlers
