I'm looking for books I can read on being single and adopting. (foster to adoption) If its geared towards the person being younger, early 20's verses late 40's =] haha that would be awesome but not necessary for my benefit. I'm interested in older children ages 6 to 12, preferably on the older end even of that group. Possibly sibling group but more than likely an individual child. ALSO really excellent books I can give to the child(ren). Something up lfting they can read and relate to in a positive way. So that would be something about an older girl or boy being adopted by a SINGLE person.
How To's and Fiction books welcome.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions =D[/FONT]

Hi I am also in the same position. I am a single woman, in my 20's looking to adopt an older child. I have decided that it is time to make my life long desire of adoption a reality. I would love to talk to you, since this post is old. To find out if you have found and info and how things are going for you with regards to adoption. Please contant me at eden_eye6 @ hotmail.com
I hope to hear from you soon.
I would always refer you to the book and movie Martian Child. It kind of shows you the view from the childs eyes. When adopting from foster care the Dave Peltzer series of books are fantastic. "A Child Called It" They are a really good view from his POV as a faster child of how the system went and in his last book the people who cared for him over the years put in their POV. Other than that I am drawing a blank. I hope this helps and good luck with your journey's!!!! :grouphug: We are all in this together!
