We have spent a lot of time talking to our 2 bio kids who live at home (3rd is grown and on her own) about foster/adopt. In fact it has been the topic of conversation for the last 2 - 3 years.
We have seen Martian Child and absolutely loved it. I have picture books on the book shelf as well as Adopting the Hurt Child and 20 things Adopted Children Wish Their Parents Knew. Our children are familiar with what foster care is adn we have friends who have adopted 5 children from foster care. I feel like our kids have a good idea as to what to expect BUT I still feel like I would like to have books or more movies that would provoke more thought and conversation with them about how they may feel once we have a child placed with us. I feel that we have spent a lot of time talking about how the child may feel or what to be prepared for as far as the other child but not the two we have at home. Our son is 10 and our daughter is 16.
Any suggestions?
