15 yr old Child has RAD and after trying to get help through DSS they feel its a teenager parent issue and child does not want to return home in group home. After 3 months of therapy they feel because she wants to be adopted out they are asking court to proceed with adoption.
My question is daughter diagnosed with RAD by therapist but DSS not listening feels its just teenage issues...will she grow out of RAD symtoms as she gets older or will they just get worse. DSS not addressing the issues and continued therapy if order is adoption to another family.
We feel the issues will follow daughter no matter who's home she is in because some have come out in group home.

The issues won't go away without help. She may learn to adapt to her environment as she gets older and on her own and needs to in order to survive. The RTC insisted my son would do fine in an independent living program upon upon release from the RTC but not be okay at home because of course, the parent is the problem. My son attemepted to commit a very serious crime and 2 lesser crimes in the short time he was in the independent living program and returned to a locked facility until they booted him at 18.
