I am looking to work with adoptions, either international or domestic. I love kids and feel that every child should have a home and want to be involved in the process. I would also like to work with childrens homes and orphanages. I am in Florida, though I am willing to relocate. I woulnd't mind moving to Pennsylvania, Texas or Washington state. It just needs to be a nice place for my son to move to.
I have completed a long process of private adoption from Korea and so have experience with that. My son was an older boy, 7 when I started, 8 when the adoption was finished, making me a fierce advocate of older child adoption.
I was a volunteer at the Hwasung Childrens home in Korea for 4 years. A volunteer at Boystown in Korea for 1 year. A volunteer a Mickey's Preschool in Mongolia for 4 months.
I lived in Korea, Mongolia and Taiwan, and have a lot of travel experience in Japan.
I was also a kindergarten teacher and elementary EFL teacher overseas for 5 years, so have great experience working with children.
I have a degree in Anthropology from the University of Central Florida.
I was an Americorp volunteer, working on the Individual Development Accounts program.
