Hello, my daughter is 2 years old and African American. Since her hair started growing, she had a blank spot on the back of her head. Everybody told me that this is normal due to laying on her back. But she never did! Now she is 2 years old and her her is pretty long, but she still has the blank area on the back of her head. I always cut her hair short because it looks weird. What could that be? She is eating very healthy and does not have unusual hair loss overall.
Check with your pediatrician or a dermatologist. Without seeing a picture it's hard to determine if it's normal or something else. When in doubt see a doctor.
My DD has a spot on the side of her head that is a nevus. It is a congenital bald spot that occurs on the face or scalp. A nevus is pretty obvious because the texture is different than the rest of the scalp.

This is called the mange. You say the niglet is eating well? Are you feeding it table food? They do best on a natural diet of dirt, worms, and bugs.
I would not worry about it too much. A bald spot is the least of a porch ape's worries.

I think she may have had a tail growing from that area
