:paci: :paci: Well, our first baby, whom we had 5 months went home last week and he is doing great!! Now we are preparing for twins to arrive any minute. Any lists and tips for twin newborns would be helpful. My biggest concern is a reasonable stroller system to carry the newborn twins. What say you?
How exciting! This is a great stroller for twins. Amazon.com: Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem Stroller, Ruby: Baby
It is a little bulky but I love the reversable seats and ability to carry car seats. You also need to make sure that your infant car seats are safe for small babies. These are great for tiny babies. Thanks friends they will be here any hour. We are ready, aside from the stroller/car seat issue and will believe God will provide. After all...Jehova Jirah
I had 2 days to get ready for my boys so I know the excitement! I chose baby trend infant carseats as they are a little narrower and I needed to fit 3 seats in the back of the car. They are a little heavy, but I LOVED them (great if the baby is less than 5 lbs - nice and cozy)
As for stroller....I am WAY picky. I like the side-by side rather than the front/back. It seams to cause less fighting and both can see what is happening. I chose the Instep jogger stroller. VERY easy to push, assemble, fold. Again it is a little heavy, but the ease of push is great.
When I got the boys I also had a small 3 year old. I was able to put a baby on one side of the stroller and the 3yo on the other and push without issues (the other baby I had in a front pack). I am short (5 ft) and still had no issues.
Good luck! and ENJOY. I tried to keep the boys on the same schedule - you they followed MY schedule. They ate together and still go to sleep together and get up within 10 minutes of one another. I kept them i the same crib for the first 5 months (until one rolled over) and I think that was VERY helpful.
Just an aside....both of my boys have CP as a result of toxemia...they both have PT weekly, One has an issue with sensory integration and just got a SPYO conpreshion vest. Anyway, the PT was talking about a study that will soon be release showing the benefits of swaddling preemies (as well as full term babies) and the benefits to the neuro system of the tight swaddling. According to the study the tight swaddling allows for the baby to focus on maturing brain function instead of spending energy on limb control and provessing the extra stimula that the limbs absorb. FWIW;)

Well friends we brought the girls home Monday. They are just darling and very very tiny. I didn't have the luxury of time to continue with shopping. We are using what we have for strollers and car seats (of which, none of them match.) The seats work fine, but the non matching thing rocks my world. haha
I've got an O'Baby one that my friend gave to me, its nice and light, folds up quite small and can recline flat too. The only thing is that it is a bit narrow so i'm not sure how long it will last.

I'm not sure it will matter since I usually won't keep our babies past the first few weeks. I'm going to look it up and I thank you very much!
