I am excited to be working on an uplifting show about African American women regarding beauty/health/fashion/fitness and lifestyle. We are currently looking to help an adoptee find out about their genealogy. What their true ancestry is. If you live in the LA and surrounding area, I would love to be able to consider you for this opportunity - ages 18-34. If you are interested, please email me at mkmeovr@yahoo.com.
This is not a reality show and this does not cost any money. This should be a fun and uplifting, eye opening experience.
Thank you!!:thanks: :thanks:

If you haven't done so already, I would suggest that you have a read of the other posts on adoption.com about the challenges of search and reunion. Yes, it is fun and exciting for some. For others, the search can unleash grief, not to mention a lot of other emotions. Are you prepared to air that as well? How much editing control will the adoptee have? And how much will you pay the adoptee, given that your show may collect substantial $ from your sponsors/advertisers?
While I'm glad to see that a diverse range of media are interested in airing the experiences of adoptees & search, I do hope that it will provide an opportunity to help raise community awareness about some of the more complex issues, rather than just capitalize on the more entertaining, sensational aspects of adoption/search challenges (eg. as in the show, Find My Family). For example, will you also be covering the experiences of birth mothers? Or also look at debates regarding African-American families adopting white babies?
I do hope that mass media will help educate, not just entertain.
