My husband and I have two biological children. A daughter 13 and a son 12. We are adopting 3 girls ages 14, 12, 11. We want some type of ceremony that we could do at church that includes all of the kids. Any suggestions?
Thanks for any help!
We are doing a dedication when we finalize. I chose a scriptue for each child that we will read to them, and I thought about running some pictures on the screen behind us. I want it to be about us making a commitment to them to be there for them and do our best to be the kind of parents they deserve. Kind of like a little marraige ceremony. I am also getting bibles with their new names on the front to present to them at the dedication. It will be pretty quick because I am sure they won't want to stand up there very long!
Oh and definately some cake after!

We did a candle ceremony and last year when we got married we did a joining of the family with a sand pouring ceremony. both were beautiful and you could do both. The candle ceremony honours all the people in the child's life both past and current and the sand ceremony honours the joining of this family together.
Planning on having a friend make a video pictures of the kids and there new home. Having a heard time to finding a good song. Was thinking of "LET ME BE ME" by 3 doors down
We had our at church and we called it The (ur last name) Family Expansion! We had a cake and invited everyone we knew if the kids had pictures of themselves growing up before coming to us we put them in a picture frame in a collage one for each child- we then gave the kids a necklace with their new name and the date of the adoption and presented that to them in front of everyone. We then celebrated the adoption day doe z2 or 3 years then we stopped so they would feel more like our bio children and not like adopted children! I hope that helps! Bless u!
I'm hopin to do a dedication for our kiddos, but was hoping that the kids wouldnt have a prob or be embarrassed or think its too babyish... so this was sooo cool to see and i'm excited about getting to do dedication now. :D
