I have been with Diakon for over 1 year and 6 months. I am trying to figure out how many referrals they get in a months time and how many for their foster parents are actually getting those referrals?
Seems to me either they are not getting that many or they just are not calling me, or both.
Are they calling the more seasoned foster parents over and over and just letting the newer families sit idle?
Are the ones who are "favored" getting more calls?
I just want to know, how to make myself more " appealing'' so they can call me. I know they are getting referrals but they are not calling me...there has Got to be reason why.

Any luck with changing agencies?
Can you send an email with your questions to the agency? I recently sent an email to my agency because I kept hearing that I wasn't picked (or called) because of my location. I was afraid I'd never be called or picked so I sent an email that said:
Hello CW~
Sorry to bug you but I just wanted to see what you thought about something…
Do you think that me living in (town/county name) is going to be a problem with regards to placements? I’ve heard more than once now, that I was not selected for a placement and that a home was found closer to the agency. I was wondering if you think that this will be a continuous problem for me? My goal is to be an active foster parent, not a foster home that rarely has children placed in it and I am wondering how best to reach this goal. Thank you for your help!
