We've had our kids for a year and a half. Nothing has improved with their parents and up until 3 months ago, the goal was TPR. Our new cw got TPR dismissed and now the plan is RU.The reason is simply that other kids need services worse than these children and there isn't enough funds for everyone!I find that so hard to take. We are at one supervised 2hr a week right now but somehow in the next 3 months, the kids are scheduled to go home for good. So much for doing things in the kids' best interest. The reports from everyone on the team show many red flags, but the cw isn't paying any attention to them at all.Has anyone else seen similar issues lately?

I would make sure to be at each and every court hearing and when the judge asks if you have anything to say - say it. The judge is the one who makes the final ru decision, not the cw.
If your agency has a board made of citizens that goes over every case they can make recommendations that don't necessarily match what the cw does.
It is also possible that things have improved, behind the scenes, but that the former cw had his/her heart set on tpr for some reason and the new cw has a fresh look at the case and sees the improvement.

I had something similiar happen with the last foster siblings I had. They were 3 and 4 years old. Mom was taking drugs and pregnant. Small town, everybody knew each other, etc., and the worker kept saying that we would probably get the newborn as well, but that she would be addicted. So we planned on that. We only had the boys two months, and they were reunited with the mom and her boyfriend who refused to even take drug tests. Mom went in the hospital and left the boys with the boyfriend. As far as I know, the kids are still there. Go figure!
