We want to take a short trip soon, for a few days, and we initially wanted to take all 3 fc with us. We're waiting on official permission from the court.
However, as we get closer to the date, we are having second thoughts about taking ALL the kids. The two older ones are very troublesome and have ruined trips in the past.
We'd love to take just the youngest with us and leave the older two with a respite family. The older two aren't bonded to us (or each other) at all, even after 18 months. It wouldn't bother them at all to stay with respite... they'd see it as new opportunities to manipulate fresh, unsuspecting victims!
Has anyone ever taken one and left the others?
I haven't had to leave kids and take others, but if you know that it is the best thing to do, then do it. It would be better for everyone to have the break and have a good time, which the kids will get in respite. Don't feel guilty about it.
