I dont have an answer for you.. but I do know that when I hired my attorney in Jan. she said that she had still not been paid the non recurring for a case she did back in June '09 ( I think june.. it was a looooong time before anyway) so.. non recurring , seemed from her that any attorney that dealt in these remimbursements was well aware of the time frame.. but.. thats all I know.. I would think that you would either just be recieved a pro rated ( ?) for april and normal for may though. One would think... good luck!

I never saw a gap in mine, for both kids it just continued on, the next month was the next check. The amounts changed, but there was no lag.As for attorney and such - I never dealt with that for my youngest, the DSS and attorney had a contract already so I never had anything to do with it (Although the attorney sent me a copy of the bill that DSS got) and for my oldest I hired a private attorney so I paid him.
I adopted my dd in 2006.. We finalized in June & didn't get our first subsidy pmt until Sept.. Your payment should start the following month (subsidy is paid the month ahead, foster is paid the month behind) but if it doesn't you will get backpaid.. Our adoption from TX started subsidy immediately.. Good luck!
well....i just adopted as well, on april 29th.....i was told there could be some delay, but get this....when i spoke to someone in the adoption unit she told me there really should have been NO delay in payment because i adopted from foster care and was already in the system.
come to find out the case manager had not gotten over the necessary paperwork to get me started. i was told had they done that, this could have been taken care of within 7-10 days.
glad i continued to ask questions. still waiting to be assigned a worker and get the ball rolling on this. thank god i have a different team handling my other foster son.:rolleyes:
