Today was the first time in my life that I feel like I can say someone is "like me." After 31 years, it feels refreshing but at the same time, I feel pity for myself. I have two toddlers (1 & 2) and they have inherited my husband's dominate Pacific Island traits so needless to say, I haven't even been able to truly say that someone looks like me. Instead, it took a rash...yes a rash, to actually feel that "connection" for the first time. :flower: My 1 year old daughter had a horrible allergic reaction to an antibiotic this morning and when I called my mom (adoptive and a nurse) to see if she knew what the rash could be from, she said to me "Well, she's just like you...you had the same reaction to the same antibiotic, at the same age." Wow! Never in my life have I heard those words. Never have I been able to say those words. I don't feel like anyone else but another adoptee could understand what I'm feeling right now, especially when it is just a rash, but I had to share it! Thanks for reading

I totally get where youre coming from on that one! My kids look nothing like me but let me tell you me and my kids have the EXACT same feet! lol! Both of their dads have long skinny feet and toes but my little ones have their mommy's short chubby toes and wide feet! isn't it funny to see what us adult adoptees with kids get giddy over?!
