Is there or wasn't there mortgage assistance for foster parents in NJ? Or did I hallucinate that? I swear I remember reading something about a lower interest rate or something. But that might be from years ago.
I want to move. I love the INSIDE of my house but am having issues with neighbors, no yard/sidewalk for my son to play and a GROUP HOME next door with disabled clients (lovely woman but she insists on kicking the wall at night. For hours):grr:
Hi...I asked this same questions a few months ago. Here's the thread: http://forums.adoption.com/new-jersey-foster-adoption/385473-3-mortgage.htmls
I never was able to get in touch with the guy for the program...mortgage rates are so low now, though- some are below 4%!
Good luck :)

Its for first time home owners who either need a place big enough to be able to keep a sib group together or to better assist kids with special needs. Its called home ownership for permanency program or HOPP. I got a one percent interest rate.
The program is based upon available funds. Once they run out for the year, they are done.
Aw crap. I bought my house in 2008, right after his adoption was final and my interest rate is 6%. well, I am glad it worked for Bethany.
I just did a refi and got a great rate. Its a great time to refinance. I switched from a 30 yr to 15 yr and my payment actually went down.
I asked about this a couple of weeks ago and was told the program no longer exsisted but they were going to try to start it up again if they get funding
