I posted over in the "becoming foster parents" section about the fact that Indiana foster families get a free pass to the museum. Not a bad vacation or weekend activity.
I knew there was a state section, just couldn't find it at the time, so I posted there too.
It is a nice benefit but also if anyone has a child with who gets Medicaid then the whole family can get in for $1.00. So really foster families just save a buck a visit.
FYI - if you go to get the membership that you need to take your license and proof that you have placements currently in your home.
There are a few museums in Indy that do the $1 admission besides Childrens Museum. It is sometimes referred to as Hoosier Healthwise Pass. I know the Eitlejorg is one BUT the Zoo is NOT.

It is $1 per family member though. So if it is 4 kids and two adults, it's $6 per visit. It's called Access Pass and works at Conner Prairie as well. From now on the Museum will require a Certification Letter from the (Medicaid) CW to do the access pass. If you have ever tried to get ahold of Medicaid, that is a real PITA.
I used to do visits there sometimes and the parents could get in for just the dollar p/p, but no more. How many people are going to know where their certification letter is?
Fosterfamilies actually get a free family annual membership to the Children's Museum not just a free one time pass...We got ours last May. It has been wonderful for respites and since we have been matched with Princess and Mr. D. We just took in our license, the names and date of birth of our placement, any time we needed to add more it was just a matter of providing the additional information!

The Access Pass(also a annualy renewed program btw) is completely separate from the Foster Membership. It was mentioned because of it being only $1, I brought it up to let others know that there are changes to the Access Pass Program and that is it also a program at Conner Prairie(and the Eiteljorg as mentioned)I use the Access Pass there since Conner Prairie doesn't offer a Foster discount.
Are these only for IN families or can those of us, with kids in medicaid, benefit also?
I really should work on finding things in my own state, but you guys just have all the luck with good things like this.

I think you would need to call to ask that question.
