Apparently there is s waiting period in pa for subsity for daycare. How long is it and do u get reimbursed for what u already spent waitig for the subsity?
I'd love to know because my agency said there really isn't a subsidy. Weird. I wonder if they said that because of a long wait or what.

No, the daycare subsidy is not retroactive.
In our county, the wait is about 7ish months. The wait varies by county.
Where I live in PA you don't get reimbursed for daycare, you have to sign the kids up and wait for an opening. From what I have heard from other foster parents the wait here is months. If you put them in before that, then it is out of your pocket. I personally quit work to stay home with my foster kids, but that was because of their severe issues, young age, and I was told I would be adopting them.
I talked to our County. There is subsity but both parents have to work at least 20 hours a week. My husband is hourly so he may work 20 one week, but not the next. So he talked to his boss and was able to switch his schedule to work weekends. So he'll watch them during the week and me on the weekends.

In my county kids who are in foster care are automatically eligible for sibsidized day care/ headstar immediately. My county also has an agency which gives you referrals for daycare and you can apply for county subsidized day care there
