Have been researching the agencies and so far am thoroughly unimpressed. My husband and I speak Russian, have traveled and lived there, and I've yet to find an agency where someone really knows Russia.
I need a savvy, go-getter agency with Russian speakers. East coast (NY, NJ, Boston, DC, north VA) would be best. Thanks for any thoughts.
HI Maksik
Right now from what I understand, there is a move in the Russian govt. to stop all adoptions to America. I believe we will all see on Dec. 26 whether or not President Putin signs the bill. You may want to wait until after Xmas to get references. There is a website called "adoption agency ratings." If you google it it will come up. I have looked on there myself. I adopted back in 2006 so my information is all dated. But others here will probably be able to help and you may want to check out that website.
Happy holidays,

maksik...not sure why you need an agency that speaks russian??? our agency was great, while they did not speak the language, they had amazing contacts in moscow (w/over 25 years experience) & a great bi-lingual team there. that seems more important in my opinion...
hoping putin does not sign this new bill into law. i still have hope he'll do the right thing & not punish the children. fingers crossed!
