I've just read a vile opinion about international adoption expressed on another forum:
We should remember that the adoption trade is an even more egregiously exploitative economic exploitation than the MOB industry. The fuel is similar and the opportunities for abuse even greater. For example, we might ask why it is that people seek foreign kids as adoptees. Simple answer - because the barriers to entry are lower. People who can not adopt in their own country can buy a baby in another. In and of itself this is a good reason to NOT allow such adoptions. If people are adjudged unfit to adopt in their own country and community what is different in the more challenging situation of an international adoption?
So, what do we see?
US adopters of Russian kids are much more likely to kill their adoptive kids than Russian adopters.
From what I have observed this opinion is ridiculous.
If you would like to read the rest of his post you can find it here, on page three, reply 31 of this thread on adoption of Russian children. It is written by andrewfi.

I would actually like for this post to be removed. We are grieving on this board, and the last thing we need is to read this kind of hateful stuff. Please do not post any more of it here. We are aware that there are idiots out there....I don't care to seek them out and read what they have to say. I certainly don't want to correspond with them. Thanks.

IN the past few days I have been reading the articles online about the adoption ban on sites like BBC.CO.UK and CNN.COM. I was surprised how many ignorant (bordering on hate) articles there were about people who chose to go overseas to adopt.
To me the posters almost sounded as if they were talking about goods "BUY AMERICAN!" not people. Most of them have never walked in our shoes as to how to build a family. At this point I stopped looking at the commentaries. There were just too many ignorant, hateful remarks on these sites. It just wasn't worth reading peoples' comments who had nothing to do but to spew hate.

I agree. There is plenty of this stupidity in the reader comments on sites like Yahoo, etc. I find it interesting that Ade.'s very first post is a link to such an article. What's the motive? Take it away!
