My husband and I are finishing up our 2 year waiting period with our three adopted children and are ready to return to the U.S. Are there other Americans out there with permanent resident status who adopted as Brazilians and have information about the final steps to getting American visas for your adopted child? We have filled out the I-130 for each one and thought we would finish our process at the American Embassy in Rio de Janeiro...however, we just received an email from them that insinuates we need to go through an embassy in the U.S. Anyone have insight into this?
