Hi,
My husband and I are trying to decide how to proceed. We have 2 sons and want to adopt a girl (please don't judge).
We realize our "big" choice is going to be between international and domestic adoption. We know that with international adoption, we know we can easily select a sex preference. However, we also know that most agencies that do newborn domestic adoptions will not allow sex selection.
If we do decide to pursue domestic adoption, can anyone give me advise about agencies that DO allow sex selection? I'd appreciate any advice - please just PM me. Thanks!

I seem to remember reading on here that many agencies will allow a gender preference if there's a "good reason" for it. Having 2 children of one gender and wanting to adopt a child of the opposite gender would qualify as a "good reason".Some agencies will also allow you to pick and choose the situations you want to be considered for. You could always ask to be shown only to expectant moms who know they're having girls or for already born girls.
Hi! I know this is kind of an old post but I'm hoping someone can help. We've contacted 2 agencies who've told us they won't accept a sex preference. This is puzzling to us as we've 4 daughters at home and hope that it's not controversial that we might want a son. We know that it is a sensitive thing for birth mothers but we're perfectly open to a crisis-situation child or toddler. Has anyone been in contact with an agency that has helped them with this? Many thanks in advance!
