I have a time line question. I am going through an agency to foster. I am in no hurry, but my job requires timely paperwork and a slow process is difficult for me. Thursday May 1 ,I turned in the huge application packet to foster. The next day I emailed the person who was to recieve it (she was out when I left it). She stated she did recieve it. She stated she would review it and if there where any concerns she would contact me. If not, she would hand it over to a recruiter. I do not want to continue to bug them, but I have no flow chart and am unsure of an estimated time frame. Will the recruiter contact all of our bio children and refferances before she contacts us? I am considering contacting the person I spoke to May 2- tomorrow. But, I hate to be a pain.
The foster care process is a slow process. I would wait two weeks and then maybe contact them. Maybe email versus call? Good luck.

I heard from the recruiter today !! She said she had my application and was very excited that we are willing to take infants
I am like you and having a hard time with the slow process. We have all our paperwork complete, but SW is buried due to computer system change over. I told her I understand and will contact her at the end of the month if I haven't heard anything from her. Some days I wish I had not done that, but I am trying to see it from her perspective, too. We are not in a hurry either, but I like to know that things are moving. After this month the bugging emails are going to get more regular until something new starts to happen.
Most of the time, the agency will try to match your speed. Some people take months on end. We took 2 months from the first phone call to licensed. And that was with holdups because of weather and a few extra hoops to jump through!
But it does take SOME time. Of course, it is very exciting to get going. Those were the slowest two months!
