As I've said before, we're hoping to take placement of our adopted sons' biological sister. We got our foster license and were ICPC approved back at the beginning of June. The cw recently stated that they were "requesting a special hearing to move the child" to us. Any idea how long we should expect it to take to have the special hearing? There is already a permanency hearing scheduled for this week, but cw seemed to indicate they would need a second hearing to move her? I'm just trying to figure out what to expect. child has been in care for 9 months now-since birth. The first 3 months were technically voluntary placement for family services, but.... It sure would be nice to have an idea when she might arrive!

No it isn't possible for me to go. I don't know exactly when the court hearing is anyway, but I have a 2, 4, and 6 year old at home plus a respite baby coming later this week and hubby is out of town for work. Another question, can/will a judge move a child prior to TPR being at least filed?

In my case, the child (my niece, now DD) was moved via ICPC prior to TPR
This was possible because visitation was down to once a month and I committed to transporting her
as for how long it takes, once ICPC is approved (both states.. approval can mean different things to different people). if both states have signed off on the icpc, the kids can be moved that day (I was shocked when i got the call... given how slow everything had moved to that point, i expected a schedule. lol!)

Both states have already approved ICPC back in the first week of June. So we are just waiting for the judge to order the move. As far as I know mom is still allowed to visit every other week however she hasn't since May from what I can tell. And she'll be headed to prison soon so maybe the judge will order the move then...
