Thanks to everyone who responded to my previous post. It's great to feel such support and understanding.
We are now considering changing agencies. We are in the Houston area and are currently with CPS and are looking at Depelchin, Spaulding and Pathways. We're hoping to adopt a child or sibling group (up to 2 kids) from 4-10 years old.
I'd love to hear from folks who have used those agencies or others in Houston, especially anyone who also made a switch. What was your experience like? Would you recommend them? How long did the switch take? Did you have to start again from scratch?
If you have recommendations, suggestions or warnings, please PM me. Really appreciate the help.
I havent been on the boards in a long time and as such, can't seem to figure out HOW to PM anyone...so - if you will PM me - maybe that will help. We are with Spaulding and have some insight. :)

Thank you! I just PM'ed you. Please let me know if you got it.
FYI: To PM someone, you click on their username or look it up using the search tool. That should take you to their profile. On that page, there is a link to PM or email them. They have to have the PM function enabled. You can do that on by clicking on your options settings.)
To read your PM's, go to your profile page (click on User CP at the top of the page) and click on List Messages at the left hand menu tab.
Thank you!

I can't PM you - your user name is not an active link. But, could probably respond if you PM me. I used a private agency in the Houston area. I don't have first hand knowledge of the agencies you listed but know people who have used them.
In response to your other post about not getting a placement, it will take time if you are adopt only. So many of the children stay with their foster families, or go to a home that has been waiting even longer. I do believe that the right child(ren) will come along at the right time.
As others have said, check out respite possibility, that make be a good lead. It is hard when a child is in your home, for any length of time, and they go home, or to another family (I had one this Summer for two months go live with her sibling and their grandmother), but is so worth it to know that I help her transition from the only home she knew, however bad that was, to one that is good, safe, and a healthy environment. I miss her, but know she is where she belongs. Shortly after she left I received a call that my Adopted Daughter has a new sibling that needed placement, so you just never know.
Hi MotherheartTX,
Check:

It's new so there might not be enough reviews up yet, but could be helpful for you if others have reviewed.
Good Luck!

Thank you! I'll try to PM you and see if that works. I had issues with my user name so that may be why you can't PM me.
