Seeking Job and resume help

In the process I discovered that working in the adoption field in the areas of special needs and/or infertility is what I want to do. I have no idea where to begin. Someone suggested that I get a resume around. I am having great difficulty composing one for another field other than education. I know I have beneficial skills but I don't know how to transfer those skills into a resume for the adoption field. Can anyone direct me on how to find a job with a degree in Special education AND how to find info. on creating an appropriate and effective resume? I really appreciate your time. Sasha
