Want info on Fathers birth family,was born 1913 Indiana/Illinois?

My father was born January 25, 1913. His adopted mother's name was Laura Franklin. I can't remember his adopted Father's name. He possibly was born in Illinois, or Indiana, where he lived with his adoptive parents. He died a year and a half ago, and we found his adoption papers that said his birth name was Oliver Booker. He didn't speak much about that part of his life, but for some reason mentioned that his last name would have been Ellis. I would like to know more info about his birth family. He died from cancer, as well as his daughter, my half sister, and my brother. I would like to know if there is any more cancer on his side of the family.
