They have the best search angels around.
In just Nov. alone - there were over a dozen finds.
I've been a member there since around May of this year,
I found my birthfamily - had a wonderful reunion - and stayed on to help others when I have time.

If you're interested in pursuing advice from an attorney in the future, you might want to check out Pre-paid Legal. For approximately $25.00 a month, they give you unlimited phone consultations and no extra cost, review a certain amount of documents at no extra cost, and, if you need some type of representation, it's offered at a discount.
They are located all over the nation so you'd have access to legal information in other states as well. I don't recall their web address but you could probably find it through a search engine.
If not, I'll track down the number for you, if you're interested.
Best wishes!!

KYGirl,
Unless you have a life threatening disease, or are lucky, and in good health you draw an unusually sympathetic judge, even with a lawyer, most sealed record states (which Kentucky is) will not open your records. In most states, you may petition the courts by filling out a fill in the blank affidavit at the county family/probate court where you were adopted. But the chances of it succeeding are slim.
Your better bet as ruizstudios said, is to enter your info in all the registries that you find along the way. If you are just now starting out, you should contact the adoption agency that handled your adoption and request as much "non identifying" information as they can give you. They may also have a registry to join, perhaps for a small fee. They may also offer an intermediary for hire. You should also, personally, go through all papers pertaining to your adoption, held by your adoptive parents, preferably with their cooperation and support.
Unless money is no option, you should be skeptical of anyone that charges fees, and not act impulsively. There are a lot of scams out there to be wary of.
