My adoption was handled through a private law firm, Dunham and Dunham, in Port Lavaca, Texas in 1964. They were also my godparents (close friends of my Adoptive parents) and have both passed away.
My question is, what happens to records kept by private law firms in the event of the death of both partners? Is there some way of tracking these records, or are they automatically destroyed?
