I am actually posting this question for a friend of mine in hopes that I can ease her mind. She has adopted a baby from Vietnam. The child is home with her now, and she has all the legal documents from her adoption in Vietnam. She for some reason is worried that in time the birthmother might decide that she wants her child back. Is this possible?? She does not have contact with the birthmom, but the orphanage does. I have told her that the baby received her Visa, and the baby is now a US citizen, by the new citizenship law, and that there is NOTHING that the birthmom can do. Once the adoption was completed in the country and all the papers finalized there is nothing that the birthmom could do to change the outcome. Am I correct?? I am hoping that I can ease her mind and stop her from worrying. She needs to be enjoying the time with her new baby. Thanks so much for the help.
